Afternoon Tea with Millie Stokes
| by Maria
Absolute Abode welcomed Millie Stokes, accompanied by pianist Merel van der Knoop for an afternoon tea!
What better way to enjoy our sumptuous afternoon tea than by listening to Millie performing music from the musicals such as ‘Les Misérables’, ‘Oliver!’ and ‘Chicago’ as well as a more modern repertoire with numbers such as the haunting ‘Hallelujah’ made famous by Jeff Buckley. Both Millie and Merel were absolutely flawless in their performance.
Millie is in year 9 and studies at the Hall School in Wimbledon, an excellent local private school.absolute abode is very keen to support local artists and we are always looking to showcase local talent.
Keep an eye out for more afternoon tea events. Our teas can also be enjoyed with a glass of english sparkling wine from the Bluebell Vineyard Estates in Sussex. Our scones, made in house by the lovely Maria, our patisserie chef, have just the right crumbliness. Your only real decision is whether to put the clotted cream on first before the jam (the Devon way) or the jam before the cream (the Cornish way). We think you’ll find every tier of our afternoon tea platter, from our homemade cakes and panna cottas right through to our delicious sandwich selection will only leave you with another dilemma, which order to enjoy them first!
